The Seed Foundation
We strive to challenge children around the globe to become active science learners and serve to bridge the gap between developed and developing countries. From a global standpoint, one of the challenges of the SEED/MaMaMedia Collaboration is to design online applications that are well suited-technically, conceptually, and visually-to an international audience and in several languages.
The Peace Project
The Peace Project at MaMaMedia.com is an example for a program designed with a global vision in mind. This online community was created rather fast, in response to a world tragedy that happened in the USA. However, the creators took seriously into consideration that kids from around the world will participate (simply because MaMaMedia.com has visitors from 36 different countries). We have learned that when using Internet media technology there is a remarkable opportunity for a global vision, but at the same time, it is an absolute necessity for execution!
The swift global expansion of the Internet in the past decade holds significant promise for people from all around the world. This is true especially for young children, and particularly in developing nations -- which can benefit greatly from access to information and real-time communications, as well as from economical and educational connections to a global community.
My Planet provides guided surfing in a safe environment, creative and fun online learning, and cross-cultural projects. Young people can now enhance their understanding of the world -- past, present, and future.
