Globaloria Selected as SETDA Emerging Private Sector Partner

June 3, 2014

Globaloria was selected as a Emerging Private Sector Partner by the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA), out of a highly competitive pool of applications. With this honor, Globaloria was recognized as an emerging company with the capacity to leverage technology to serve a need in PreK-12 or pre-service education, and the potential to scale on a state-wide and multi-state basis. Amber Oliver, VP of Operations and Partnerships, will represent Globaloria at the Emerging Technologies Forum on June 26 in Atlanta, GA. Read the press release here.

Globaloria students from The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria became finalists in the High School division of the MIT's "Dream It. Code It. Win It." competition with their eco-friendly game, "Code Green". The competition is a software contest organized by MIT, and finalists were decided through votes on social media and a panel of judges. Finalists were awarded prizes at the Awards Ceremony in NY on May 1st, where the students got to meet distinguished influences such as Joi Ito (MIT Media Lab) and Teresa A. Dahlberg (Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art). See the full list of finalists of the High School Division here.
