Every year, hundreds of Globaloria students participate in game design competitions called the Globeys. It is the culmination of a year-long learning and teaching activities. The Globeys celebrate excellence in game design process and team work, and motivate students to dig deeper into their learning—all while helping them to develop real-world skills. The Globeys are launched in the fall; students work on their projects throughout the school year and submit projects to the competition in the spring. Certificates, prizes and awards are given to the winning teams in the spring and summer at special Globey Award Ceremonies.
The 2012 Globey Award Ceremonies are being held on the following dates:
- Globey Awards in Austin, Texas on May 17, at the East Austin College Prep Academy.
- Globey Awards in Tampa, Florida on May 17, at the Museum of Science and Industry.
- Globey Awards in San Jose, California on June 5th, at the Oak Grove Community Center.
- Globey Awards in West Virginia for STEM and Civics Tracks will take place throughout the state at various locations and dates to be announced shortly.
