What is Personal Information?

Personal Information We Collect

You may provide personal information to us in a number of ways when you visit our Sites. For example, depending on the specific web site, you may provide us with personal information when you:

  2. Subscribe to email notification of certain changes in Site functionality or content (e.g., page changes); or
  3. Contact us by email for any reason (such as to request customer service or provide us with your comments/feedback). We collect a username and email address in this manner.
  4. If audio support is required we will collect the Skype number for the location support is requested from.

Your use of the Globaloria network of sites and services described above indicates your consent to these uses of personal information. To operate these services, this information is stored on World Wide Workshop servers.

Please note that we are not responsible for any personal information that you voluntarily provide as part of any edits or similar submissions to the Sites, including registration information, your user name, your private messages, or your user profile.

When you login to our Sites, some information is also automatically collected, such as your computer's Internet Protocol (IP) address, your computer's operating system, the browser type, the address of a referring web site, and the time and date of your visit and Site pages visited. World Wide Workshop does not require that you accept cookies, however, some functionality on our Sites may be disabled if you decline to accept cookies. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it.

Use of Aggregate Information

Personal information does not include “aggregate” information. Aggregate information is data we collect about a group or category of services or users. In other words, information about how you use a service may be collected, and combined with the same information of others. Aggregate data helps us understand trends among our users, and understand needs of learners so that we can better support the learning that happens in our network. The only reason we may share aggregated non-personal information with third parties outside of World Wide Workshop, is for academic research purposes only, in our learning research.

Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell, rent or share personal information with any third parties. We reserve the right to disclose personal information when we believe it is appropriate to comply with the law (e.g., a lawful subpoena, warrant or court order); to enforce or apply this privacy policy or our other policies or agreements; to protect our users' rights, property or safety; to prevent or protect our users from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful use of our Sites; to ensure the security of our network and services; or if we reasonably believe that an emergency involving immediate danger of death or serious physical injury to any person requires disclosure of communications or justifies disclosure of records without delay.

Our Sites contain links to other web sites. Any personal information you provide on the linked pages is provided directly to that third party and is subject to that third party’s privacy policy. Except as described above, we are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of web sites to which we link. Links from Sites to third parties or to other sites are provided for your convenience. Use of the Sites by Children

All schools require students to sign an Acceptable Use Policy and follow the guidelines. We encourage parents to take an active interest in their children's use of the Internet. Parents can review their child's personal information, ask to have it deleted and refuse to allow any further collection or use of the child's information. We have put into place reasonable security measures in an effort to protect personal information while it is under our control. For example, your account information is accessible online only by you through the use of your self-chosen password. To protect the confidentiality of personal information on such sites, you must keep your password confidential and not disclose it to any other person.
